Laser cutting stack of papers

Thanks. I had some many ideas last night.
I also think, i can cut these small sqares with a cutting knife (horizontaly)
And finish with the scissors (parallely)
It could save me a fire but i will try both methods
Thanks again!

this is good advise. I cut .042" veneer frequently which will fly off not from the air assist but by the dust collector i use to exhaust the fumes. I use .030" tabs to hold the work down. This is just wide enough to wok and I can use an exacto knife to just ‘pop’ the tabs. It sometimes leaves a tiny stubby so the .02" would probably work better. Cheers!

If you are looking to hollow out a book (to make a book safe, for example) you could put a dab of glue on the center of each page and glue all the page centers together.

Once dry, this would eliminate the flyway problem as the eater portion would be held together even after cutting. Once complete, the block could be lifted out in one piece.

This would also allow for multiple passes. Note the even with multiple passes bade adjusting the focus, I do NOT believe you’d be able to cut a full 2” depth.

The glue trick would also work with the bandsaw, however.

or if you wanna go really crazy you can use resin and make a book micarta
