Laser Cutter/Engraver Software

Not advocating changing the software running our lasers. But thought those with home lasers might be interested in software coming out Jan 1 called Light Burn.

Been trying out using alternate software on my laser to evaluate what improvements to workflow or interesting features.

Laser Web4 Favorite so far, wireless via Raspberry Pi.
Inkscape (with EggBot driver)
Light Burn
LaserGRBL
SmartCarve
NewlyDraw

I’ve been using Corel Draw on mine for 16 years without issue and it has good features. Done wood, plastics, metal, paper, mat board, etc., etc. 2D, 3D, photos. It would be nice if the current software could import from Corel.

I’ve talked to Merissa about Light Burn and I’ll be doing some testing when it comes out. I especially like the option of importing SVG files because I primarily design in Inkscape.

There is a Corel plugin for rdworks, but since we done have Corel Draw, I’ve never looked at loading it.
