Howdy!

The next laser meeting will be the on the 22nd in Purple. We will be…

Discussing
-Next steps for Zing Cart and Fusion Pro
-Updates on maintenance (donner)
-Details on selling lenses/lens tubes

Cleaning
-Wipe down machines
-Check/clean optics
-Clean/organize area around donner
-Install new TV (if we can get one in time)

As always anyone is welcome to come, for any portion of the meeting. We had a great turnout last month and more people always make it more interesting. This is also one of the best chances to learn to clean the machines or optics so you can help us keep the lasers running during the rest of the month.

Regarding the TV… I’m looking for a purchasing agent with a large vehicle to pick up a 65"-class TV for us, we approved $500 for it back in November. Looks like the major retailers are selling a 65" TCL that falls right in our budget.

Update on the TV, a smaller model is now in place, thanks to Freddy for finding one and David for putting it up. If it’s good enough we can keep it up, if we’d like to go back to the 65" we get that worked out at the meeting.

Is there still laser cleaning before the meeting? It’s not on the Events Cal any more.

It’s after (it’s always after), and should show up in 48 hours. Odds are the meeting will be shorter and we’ll start closer to 3.

We’ll have to be quick since someone decided to teach a laser class at 5 :stuck_out_tongue:

I can come by around 2, to get started on cleaning before the meeting.

What time should I arrive if I want to help clean (and learn how to clean) the machines? (Newbie here.) Should I come at 2-Ish?

I’m taking an all day class, but it might let out early. I’ll come help if so.

I will be out of town. Again. This time in Austin for QuiltCon, followed by a foray to LaGrange for a lecture at the Texas Quilt Museum. Sad trombone.

Most important thing for cleaning day tomorrow will be getting blitzen aligned and cleaned for the classes that evening. That way we can start tearing down Donner and the misc stuff early in the evening and move over to the big stuff when @talkers wraps up.

If we have time we should move the TV to the corner where zing is during cleaning day. That way it’ll still be with big thunder once we shuffle everything, and the classes that night can use the TV w/ blitzen.
