I just got an email and I thought others might be interested in this opportunity.
they don’t let me enter their contests anymore. I think the entire Improper Conduct section of the rules was created immediately after my last entry. It’s a long story. But suffice it to say, I use to work for the evil empire and this was my…I mean my “friend’s” entry to one of their trading card contest after out departure. At that time there were no stated rules. they completely rejected it. I asked why and got some BS answer. I pointed out there was no rule against what ever their BS answer was. This went back and forth a few times other other infractions until they finally just said they didn’t want my entry. I… I mean my friend Jack Mehoff who submitted the piece had a big laugh over it. After that, there were lots of rules to their contests. I think they were actually afraid I was going to call into their quarterly stockholders conference call to accuse them of rigging their contest. My alter ego (Jack Mehoff) still laughs about it to this day.
oh yeah, one of their disqualifying reasons was that this trading card wasn’t exactly 2x3". I informed them it was one of THEIR blanks that they sold as a 2x3 trading card. Didn’t get a response to that.

I’d love to learn how to make a leather journal cover for my composition notebooks. I know there was a similar class back in May. Anyone interested in teaching another class? I’ve not done any leather working, but seems like it would be a fun project to enhance something I use daily.

I like how the improper conduct section says nothing related to hacking or weapons. I guess I can’t make a banging Dallas Hacker’s Association cover and enter it now. Or one for my old buddy Smith who finally married his long time love Wesson.Boo!

Seriously though, a journal class like @Atch mentioned would be fun.
@morganntho is the one who taught the class previously. But I know she’s gotten busy with things outside of Dms. The leather and field journals have been bought to supply her class if it comes up again. I did tell @bitta that the leather bought for that class could be used to supply the straps for the kids in the sig meeting because I want it to go to use.
If anyone wants to facilitate a class or host a work night for this contest please let me know and I will assist as I can. @artnerdray
@Atch, @uglyknees, @artnerdray, & @DerpVader In two weeks or so I can probably teach another class! I got a new job, moved, and am still trying to get myself situated hence the break/delay in teaching more classes. I’m still very much interested in continuing to teach these leather journal classes and plan to pick them back up. I’ll ask around and see if there’s enough interest in another class within the next month or so.

Depending on the date and time, obviously, I’d certainly be interested. For my schedule, at least, the more notice the better so I can plan for it.

I’m interested in attending a class for the purpose of then teaching some leather working classes. I’m very new, and talked to @bitta a bit about the leather SIG and would love to contribute if I can.

Hey y’all, some really important family matters have come up for me and so I will not be able to teach the journal class I wanted to for the next month or two. If someone wants to pick it up and do it, let me know and I can share the tools I used. I appreciate the interest and support for the class, I will pick it back up as soon as stuff calms down on my end. Thanks for understanding.
