Probably a dumb question but… What does thie JAG MAN stand for? How did this originate? I see many people writing this and am curious about the term, it’s use, meaning and where it came from.

His trademark is pithy comments between the jag and the man in signing off.

For further explanations, let’s tag him: @JAGMAN

Raleigh,

Probably a dumb question but… What does thie JAG MAN stand for? How did this originate? I see many people writing this and am curious about the term, it’s use, meaning and where it came from.

It’s not a dumb question at all.

The origins are steeped in deep legend, twisting through the mists of time. It is said that the ancient Sumerians told of a man who was known as " The Warrior of Forever "; a shadowy leathered figure who walked the wastelands in search of something nameless.

A quest that cannot be verbalized or explained; only experienced… and never ending.

Eventually, he came to be called “Jaggen” which in the common tongue translates as “dark of the moon metal which cleaves the night”. (Sumerian can be an astonishingly efficient language) He was known for being endlessly curious about almost every facet of the Universe (except golf and model train sets) and while reputed for having a strong code of honor, he could be unpredictable in swinging between calm objectivity and sudden passion.

Over the many centuries, the English bastardized the name to simply JAGMAN which was fine because it was also a convenient email handle.

This is of course, almost pure fiction from a factual standpoint, but in spirit closer to truth.

The real reason is that JAG are the initials of my full name and the latter part represents my gender. Also, the prefix connotes my personality as having a sharpness coupled with a rough quality that fits my exterior presentation. It does NOT mean I am a fan of the British vehicle as many presume.

I do not typically handle intellectual property matters, and my moniker existed long before the movies came out.

@mblatz

That is “shiny”… not shadowy. Go consult a book on textures and lighting or something instead of pulling from your personal porn collection.

And it is NOT my quest to touch myself like that.

Besides, I have better nipples.

I have to admit…you really do have great nipples. Scientists say men’s nipples are evolutionary unnecessary and supposedly vestigial, but clearly they haven’t seen yours (all three of them). They’re magnificent!

Thank you… I have waited many a long year for someone to finally tell me that.

Now at last my soul can rest…

They’re magnificent!

As a dog, you would have a unique perspective and appreciation for such things.

Bless you.

Walter,

I realized that and I was attempting to inject more humor into this topic thread as I agree with you about needing more lightheartedness. I have now edited my post accordingly to reflect your clarification.
