Hi new member here, is there anything I can use in the wood shop without taking a class? I have a couple of weeks off of work and would love to knock out a couple of projects!
No the woodshop safety class clears you on most of the machines so you have to at least take that one
Scroll saw is probably the only powered tool that doesn’t require training. The Tools Listing on the wiki shows which items require training.

None of the hand tools require training. The sanders are training-free. And yeah – check the wiki.
Hand held power tools do not require training.
In addition to the sanders, this includes jig saw, circular saw and track, trim and full size routers, Festool Dominoes.
Everyday I have been to the space this week, I have always seen someone working that I know is skilled in these & that likes to help. So ask if you have questions about how to use a specific tool.
