Is it possible for us to make dies like this?

This is the link to their pancake dies, I keep wondering if
we could make some similar type tools to jus wiht one of the
presses,

I have never used one, but folks seem to find them real useful

I lust after some of the antique jewelry dies he bought. I am afraid
that if I ever won the lottery, he would get some huge order from me

You forgot to include a link.

But since you mentioned pancake dies and acquisition of antique dies, are you talking about this guy? http://www.potterusa.com

Incidentally, the pancake dies he sells are cut on a water jet thingy. I talked to him at length last summer…

Thank you, I had the link copied and just forgot it, I guees I need to go
to bed soon

Soooo…was that the correct link?

but I am interested in some of the dies he makes
I want o learn to do this

Close enough!

It LOOKS like those are small steel rule dies. there was a discussion about that earlier this year. It requires the right bending equipment to shape the rule. I would LOVE to see that too as it has a lot of usefulness for leatherworking stuff. Do we have any members that make steel rule dies that can shed some light on what is needed?

now that I’ve had a chance to look at their videos it is not a steel rule die. the outline is cut so you can bend the shape back, fit in a 22 guage (about the thickness of a sheet of paper) sheet and have it push the piece thru the window thus cutting it. it looks like making the die would best be done on the plasmaCam. But then, the plasmaCam could be used to cut out the shape without the die. cheers!

I’m going to try it out using plasma and will report back

and you’ll get to try out that newer hydraulic press as well.

True. I think half my plans are simply making tools lol. I’ve been looking at the feasibility of making one from a smaller jack
