I think having committee chairs get together once a quarter or so is good idea. Share ideas on what’s working and what’s not. Plans for future purchases and getting rid of assets.
Machine Shop got a cabinet from Small Metals saving us buying one, in going through Machine Shop “stuff” I discovered a Fluke Meter (about $300) - I know why it was gotten but I turned it over to Electronics since they would use it regularly and we could always go get it if we wanted.
I think it also provides an opportunity to help develop Chairs - leadership and management skills unique to the Space is also part of our Educational Mission. Also as we grow larger, our management at the Committee level becomes more critical to our continuing success. (I expect us to hit 1,500 in next two weeks and probably have 15 days continuously above that by first week of April - we are averaging 1 new member a day)
It would also provide a forum for upcoming changes Calendar, payment systems, online training, RFID systems, etc. to be discussed by the folks developing them to their “customers” so we can help spread the word.
I’d like to know what the interest is, day/time (evening if weekday, time if weekend). Have it after new BoD installed and Chairs ratified by BoD.
