All,
Any interest in Lathe classes that focus on spindle skills? Use of a detail gouge, making decorative beads and coves, etc?

I’d be interested! My spindle skills are not as confident as I’d like, so any instruction would be beneficial.

A lathe hand tools walk-thru, by specific tool function, but going into more depth than in Lathe 101, would be very helpful. I would think spindle work would cover a lot of it.
True - I know in my 101 classes we hit all the carbides, bowl gouge, and parting tool. Once I get more comfortable, I’d love to add a spindle gouge component.
But the 102 idea of “here’s how you do X effect with Y tool” is very intriguing too.
Hi, just pm’d you both a rough outline on some turning skills areas I thought there might be interest in. Would love to get your thinking on it
I read it. Looks good to me. Thanks for taking a stab at this. Lathe users really do need some remedial training (myself included).
I’m interested in this class, thanks
Roughing gouge, not bowl.
Touché. Thanks for the correction.
