If you take the sandpaper fragments out of the dust chute, the dust collection works better.
Really??
I learn something new everyday!
(actually, I’m just being sarcastic.)
Maybe we should add signage that says
'Dust collectors collect dust.
Trash cans collect trash.
HOWEVER:
While you can put dust in a trash can,
Please don’t put trash into the dust collector.
The vacuum pipes have their limitations.
In this case, these were probably belt fragments which were sucked up and captured by the sander’s dust collection when the belt self-deconstructed rather than intentional (ab)use. We received a donation of many very old belts for the horizontal belt sander, and these are pretty friable and prone to creating just this sort of debris.
Yup
they are belt fragments. The issue is the sander has been spewing dust everywhere and no one seemed to notice it, or they ignored it.
Just saying
