It was found under the table at the window in the Woodshop Annex (@Team_Woodshop) in generally plain view of the cameras,so I’ll be looking for you…if you come forward with explanation as to how this happened, or simply replace the item, OK. Otherwise, you probably won’t be having a good day…
That’s very much appreciated, but I believe the real problem is something more insidious: that people are knowingly damaging equipment and instead of owning the mistake, they just drop the broken tools back in place and walk away.
Not stirring the pot here or suggesting that its best for DMS. Just things like this reminded one that there are some membership based groups and “lodges” that have a professional background check service on speed dial for when a new member signs up.
This is intentional destruction of DMS property, and will be dealt with as such. This is also a good example of why we can’t have nice things. I am very disappointed in whoever thought that this was ok. This tool is now useless to those that know how to use it property, not to mention the fact that the set of 4 is now incomplete. It would have been just as easy to make something similar out of a scrap of wood.
IMHO, this ranks up with the person who cut the tab off of the box-joint jig, rendering it useless for that purpose until someone else came along to fix it.
Modifying DMS tooling to expedite your own project isn’t OK: it may save you a little time, but it creates a larger inconvenience for someone else to identify and correct the problem.
