And tell them to use the traditional blue tape for such…
When I was in high school auto shop the punishment for those who failed to appreciate the opportunity were sentenced to cleaning out the sump. Whether or not the person survived, they never again transgressed.
Do we have a sump?
Parts washer basin should qualify. Or maybe the clay trap?
That’s what I was thinking.
Also, the inside of the dumpster could use a good holystoning.

Our relationship has gotten a little better as of late.
Clay trap is not bad.
A sump or a grease trap. The grease goes rancid. The smell is interesting and unforgettable, in a negative sense.
Fact is this was on bubba it should not have been posted even if it was a joke. I take offense to it simply because I’m one of the few that fix the problems and it makes the maintenance team myself feel like even if we’re volunteers we’re not doing good enough poor people remember it is all volunteer run organization so comments like this kind of get to me. It may have been a joke like I said but not funny
Bubba is working again. please no more notes like this.
Thanks for all your hard work! Seriously grateful for those who keep this place running!
There is a nice sump and trap under the HAAS CNC machine that is filled with tiny slivers of aluminum. I’ve cleaned it out once and the metal slivers still penetrated my gloves. It needs to be cleaned again. I am quite sure that the Machine Shop Chairperson would not mind to have it cleaned again.
Feel free to send any and all offenders to my high school classroom to clean. I assure you I can keep you busy all day.
Please confine snide comments about the equipment to the Talk section where they belong.
