After a hard to hear conversation in private, and after many hours going through the released documentation, I’ve yielded on this whole Kris issue, Nick. But I’d like to point out that going through everything in the pile and coming to an objective conclusion is nontrivial; especially for anyone that has had contact with the parties involved over the years. Resting a final judgment on one fact, while ignoring everything else was not my intention. Nor was it my intention to subvert a standing decision. My mistake was that I sought to understand the truth with reasonable certainty. Many others in this thread seemed certain regarding the issue of theft, yet I found myself having to make certain assumptions in order to come to an objective conclusion. In my earlier post, I honestly didn’t feel I should have needed to make those assumptions, and I’m sorry if it came across as a judgment of everyone’s hard work and sound decision making. But, based on the overall picture I developed from going through everything in the pile, and with no defending arguments available, I’m unable to objectively give Kris the benefit of the doubt either. Therefore, I’ve yielded to authority on this issue. I won’t pretend I don’t have mixed feelings about it. I do. This has been difficult to accept. But nonetheless, I’d like to thank everyone for their hard work, due diligence, and ethical stewardship of Dallas Makerspace.
I pray this never happens again.
