Hp large format plotter is free for the taking

It’s been discussed, it’s been voted on, and the decision has been made to send off “Bertha the farting pig” to a different home. Specifically Bertha is the HP plotter that we’ve had issue with and can’t seem to fix for under $1k.
Any member - feel free to unplug her and wheel her to the donation area with chords attached with a sign saying “take me I’m cheap and broken-just like a kardashian”. If someone would like to invest the time and cost in getting her back on her feet you have my blessing. I would rather this not become an “office space” piñata because I think it could be of good use to someone - possibly even just the parts. But I have no say in that regard after she is out from our wing.

A moment for all of us please:
Blessings to you Bertha in your mission to the donation shelf. You were loved. Until I hated you. And all I could do was hate you. I knew you for a year and you were silently judging me the entire time. I never saw you smile. I treated you unfairly and you pissed black ink all over me and Alex and the repair guy because of it - like a octopus protecting itself. I cussed at you lots. I’m sorry for that. Go be with better people now. They will love you. Or possibly destroy you and use your organs to help others. Either way I don’t need to deal with your lying cheating black ink squirting no smiling face again and that makes me beyond happy. I will dance in the four square feet you freed up when you leave. You were a valuable member of this place for years. We thank you for your service. Good luck to you.
Ps we will be looking at replacing you with a younger faster hotter model.

Please stay tuned for the heat press funeral date to be announced.

I will be at the space at some point to move it if it’s not done.

Can we get a 24" plain paper roll in the meantime to use in the Epson or can the plain paper roll we have for the HP be cut down to fit it?

Ill be in tomorrow night and will move her if not done so already.

I know @Hardsuit was experimenting with printing on very thin paper and had no luck. @Nick printed on some paper as well with success.

In the voting thread @wandrson indicated it had worth as parts for various projects and I’d tend to agree. Maybe we should wheel it over to Electronics for [quote=“uglyknees, post:1, topic:9531”]
Or possibly destroy you and use your organs to help others.

“organ harvesting”?

I wouldn’t wheel it to electronics. The vice chair, @artg_dms has a well deserved reputation as a scrounger. If it is out by the donation shelf and no one else claims it I am sure he will process it…

For the robotics enthusiast, it undoubtedly has some nice 36"+ long guide rods and bearings as well as a couple of stepper or servo motors.

@artg_dms. the thing I like about your hoarding addiction is that you routinely share you pile of gold with others and even more you don’t generally take stuff until others have had a chance at it. @Fred_Miller chose well when he gave you keys to the warehouse of wonder.

Someone please take this before the hoarder in me drives down in my truck…

Bertha has been evicted, farting ink all over my hands the whole way. Be warned.
