How to get RFID card if I can't make it to a tour?

Hey everyone,

I’m new to the community but I have joined and paid my monthly dues. I was hoping to stop by in the morning and pick up my RFID tag since I work every Thursday evening. Is it possible to do this? it seems that if I can just get to the lobby I should be able to get everything set up myself based on the welcome guide.

Please forgive my ignorance. I did use the search feature but didn’t see the topic.

I see @StanSimmons there almost every time I am there. Maybe he can help?

Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully Stan will see this. I plan on stopping by around 11am tomorrow.

If you are the self-reliant type, then once inside head into the galley (kitchen). one of the bins in last column on west side shelving has a bin labeled RFIDs (or something very close to…). As long as last person replaced them, there should be instructions you can read/follow, as well as card and fob RIFDs.

You might need to knock on the door of the common room to get someont to let you in
Not a lot of folks there until around 10 am

Or myself.

But the general process is fairly easy and self serviced:

  1. New member must fill the waiver in the front and use an individual valid email address per person that’s joining including themselves
  2. New member can have a choice of either the fob or card, one per person and replacements are possible but must be assisted by a member of Team_infrastructure.
  3. New member visits https://accounts.dallasmakerspace.org/makermanager/users/login and signs in with their username and password created in whcms (username will not be thier email)
  4. a) Once in makermanger the user then clicks on My Badges > Add New Badge in the top nav bar
    b) Click into the text field and (waive the badge over the rfid reader while at the space’s signup pc or…) input the code on the card/fob. [Cards use the left hand block not the stuff to the right of the space]
  5. a) If a member has a family add-on then they would click My Badges>Add New Family Memberthen have that family member fill out the form with their individual details not the main account holders. b) Family member would then need to click onMy Badges>"FamilyMember’sName"'s Badge` and follow steps 4.b.
  6. Member can sign out of MakerManager, gets a new member’s handbook and is directed to signup for talk and discord
