How to 3D Print PLA?

I noticed that the ROSTOCKMAX machine at .99 is for printing PLA only. I tried its IP address in Chrome but couldn’t connect like other OctoPrint machines. I didn’t find MasterControl installed on the computer under the TV. And I could not install MasterControl without the admin password.

So, how can it be used?

Thanks
Sean

One of the Polyprinters is PLA only, or at least it was last time I was at DMS about six weeks ago. Use that one.

Also I’d check to see if the Roctockmax has a USB input.

I believe 94 and 95 have settings for PLA. You can switch out the tape, but I’ve had good luck with the built in settings in the green tape.

I haven’t seen anybody try to use that particular printer in a while, and we probably didn’t install the software for it yet on the nrw computers.

The Rostock uses WiFi or something like that last I recall. @themitch22

It has a micro USB connection on top, its just not convenient. Its wifi, but I think thr IP address changed so you’ll have to find the IP for it. Simplify 3d should be on two of the four computers, Cura is free and has a profile for the rostock max.

PLA on the polyprinter you have to change the Ext tab to PLA and add blue tape (maybe not depend for PLA)

I’ve fixed the Rostock to have it’s proper IP again 192.168.200.99. Web interface comes up now.

Awesome thanks. On the Rostock Max, you can print PLA directly on the glass but a little bit of glue stick helps but it can stick too well to the glass. Also there is a auto-calibration macro to run to make sure you get a good first level.

Can we have all these knowledge of which printer can do what documented in a WIKI page?
