Hi yall! I am looking to get involved in the science(y) side of makerspace! I am a high school student with interest in all things science and math and have time to learn and help wherever I can! If you want a helper (to enter or record data, model calculate, ect.) or just need another set of hands, that’s me! I also deeply respect learning and practicing safety procedures as well as the careful thought required when in a setting with sensitive and potentially dangerous equipment. (I’m also versed in Microsoft office)
One of the best ways is to try and attend these informal get-togethers:
Welcome to DMS. Would be great if you are able stop by our informal Sunday get together when you have a chance. I’m currently busy with trying to meet a deadline but sometime after 9-18 I plan to put up some introductory classes for lab safety and lab procedure as soon as I can.
Additionally, we’ve got a number of Science classes in development that we hope will kick off around October. If you are willing to come to help with the prep work required to run some of those classes that would be appreciated. It would be quite helpful to have a teachers assistant of sorts and I think it would be a great learning experience for you.
Absolutely! I would be absolutely willing to help, just let me know where and when!
Welcome! As @GreenOrbs said, the best thing to do is simply stop by the Science area any Sunday afternoon between 3-5pm. We could use some teachers for the strawberry DNA extraction class and a few others. The syllabus is already done so it’s nearly plug and play once we get the materials together.
