The Lockheed plant in west Fort Worth has (had) gantry mills like that to cut the wing out of aluminum billet.

Another problem with house sized mills is that they can easily consume a mortgage payment sized collection of consumables every month.

Imagine what one little head crash would cost if the programs weren’t perfect. Lets see how we handle the giant 3D printer being donated first, before we get a bigger mill.
