Anyone ever mess with the stuff?
I picked up 2 spools of AlienMake brand in white for $5 a spool and wondered if anyone has tried it before.
I’ve used HIPS on a Taz at the Ft Collins Creator Hub in Colorado. 3nm though, not 1.75 mm.
Works fine. The DMS Polyprinters are supposed to be ABS only, though.
You can try the HIPS on Midnight or your own printers.
I have 2 printers of my own that I’ll be using it with. Just was wondering if there were any oddities in using it.
From what I read on the web, it’s primary use is as a support structure for ABS that is easily dissolved using a chemical called Limonene. That would be interesting to use in my dual extruder printer for complex or delicate shapes that require support structures.
I’ve used it for supports in 3D printing. It works ok. I prefer PVA for dissolveable supports.
