HF Digital Modes

I’d like to gauge the interest in a HF digital modes class. I’d cover:

  • What are Digital modes? How do they differ from SSB and CW?
  • Where can I run digital modes?
  • What software do I need?
  • Interconnecting your rig with your computer
  • On-air operations
  • Logbook of The World (LoTW) to log contacts

I suspect this will be a 1 hour classroom with hands-on demonstrations using our HF rig. I’d donate the honorarium back to the committee for future use, perhaps to use for a SignaLink interface on our PC.

HF - high frequency ~3mhz - 30mhz
SSB - single sideband (voice)
CW - continuous wave (morse code)
LOTW - logbook of the world
