I have a storage unit in Garland filled with a treasure trove of Maker and engineering-related items that I’ve been collecting for over 30 years, starting in the 1980s. While there are a few things I’d like to keep, the majority are ready to find new homes and get back into circulation. The collection includes test equipment, electronic parts, semiconductor data books, and general engineering books.
I’m not looking to sell these items, but rather to find ways to get them back into the hands of people who can make use of them. My goal is to clear out the storage unit by the end of March, and I’d love to avoid sending anything to the landfill.
If you have any ideas or know of groups, makerspaces, or individuals who might be interested in these items, I’d love to hear from you! Here’s a link to some photos that show what’s in the unit: Storage Unit Photos
Thanks for helping me pass these on to the right people!
Maybe set up an “Office Hours” where people from the 'space can drop by and look through them? I’d be interested in taking a couple items from the photos but couldn’t take the whole lot or anything.
Add me to the list of folks interested in a look-n-see trip to your storage unit. Weekends are best for me, but can adapt to what’s best for a group of viewers.
Not sure if you saw my other message. I would love to come out and look, but with some travel, the earliest I think I could would be Saturday the 15th mid afternoon , or Sunday the 16th.
