Help Needed: Rehoming Maker & Engineering Items from Decades of Accumulation

I have a storage unit in Garland filled with a treasure trove of Maker and engineering-related items that I’ve been collecting for over 30 years, starting in the 1980s. While there are a few things I’d like to keep, the majority are ready to find new homes and get back into circulation. The collection includes test equipment, electronic parts, semiconductor data books, and general engineering books.

I’m not looking to sell these items, but rather to find ways to get them back into the hands of people who can make use of them. My goal is to clear out the storage unit by the end of March, and I’d love to avoid sending anything to the landfill.

If you have any ideas or know of groups, makerspaces, or individuals who might be interested in these items, I’d love to hear from you! Here’s a link to some photos that show what’s in the unit:

Thanks for helping me pass these on to the right people!

There are a handful of things I could personally use, though it’s hard to tell since much is in boxes.

All priority to DMS and any other groups though. It’s just tinkering in the garage for me.

Thanks for sharing!

If you happen to have a pottery wheel, I have been looking to buy one

Also, I’ve been looking for A bench saw. So basically anything pottery or wood related I would be interested

Maybe set up an “Office Hours” where people from the 'space can drop by and look through them? I’d be interested in taking a couple items from the photos but couldn’t take the whole lot or anything.

As others have said, our space, or other spaces first.

But I would be interested in the 7904, for a couple of plug in modules I don’t have, and spare parts for my 7904.

And I would be interested in what some of that HP equipment that I see happens to be.

Sorry, no pottery stuff unfortunately.

That’s a good idea. If there is enough interest I can set up some times on evenings this week and/or next weekend.

Can u respond to David

Thx

Add me to the list of folks interested in a look-n-see trip to your storage unit. Weekends are best for me, but can adapt to what’s best for a group of viewers.

PM me if you set a date/time

Not sure if you saw my other message. I would love to come out and look, but with some travel, the earliest I think I could would be Saturday the 15th mid afternoon , or Sunday the 16th.

I plan to be at the warehouse both this Saturday and next Saturday. I’ll PM the exact times and location.

I’m interested as well. If DMS is taking a trip, I’ll join in.

I’m at the unit now until 2PM if anyone is interested in coming out. Please PM me for location.
