I’m at DMS most days (9a-3p), including the rest of this week. I’d like to print this Stormtrooper (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1169514) for my nephew for this weekend. Would anyone be interested in helping me?
Thanks!

Low Poly Stormtrooper? Kewl kewl!
I work a later shift, so I’m one of the late night folk. Hopefully someone who hangs out at the 'Space during the day will be able to give you a hand!
BTW ~ when finding files from Thingiverse (or anywhere really), be sure to read the comments posted, as they will usually give you an idea of your chances of the print actually coming out (along with suggestions, etc… if anything ends up having to be ‘tweaked’ for a successful print). The comments on this particular file seem to be pretty mixed, so it would definitely be best to have someone who has quite a bit of experience help you run it through netfabb, etc…
If you haven’t already taken a 3D printing class to be authorized to use the printers yourself, you might want to watch the calendar for upcoming classes… It’s pretty neat being able to watch a file from the computer turn into a solid object on the printer bed!
Thanks, Lisa. That seems like good advice. After reading the comments, it does seem like it might be a tricky one.
I definitely want to take the class, just happened to be on a weekend when I’ll be out of town.
Hopefully soon!
Yes, very helpful. I tried twice to print a trinket that had details simply too granular for printing at a reasonable scale (given that it was a raw extract of a ship model from Eve Online this should have come as no surprise).
