Ethan. Is there a time that my son and i could heat treat a sword that he is working on? I’ve never done it before and would likely need to do an oil quench outside on the gas forge. I still am reading about how to properly do the ovens afterward but would want some opinions from those that have done this.
I don’t see any open forges on the calendar for the rest of the year.
Not sure what kind of results you’d get trying to heat treat it that way. Really needs to have the sections done evenly. Also with heat treating there is a ramp-up, hold, and either a quench or ramp down.
Should be doable in the large forge we should have an open forge either late this month or next month for sure
