Has anyone tried alumina hydrate...in wax...?

Saw this today and wanted to see if anyone here has tried this trick…or wants to!

May I ask what is clay plucking?

Yes, the wax+alumina will work, the arguably easier solution is to provide your own cookies with a well applied, high refractory kiln wash. This is faster as it doesn’t need specific attention to each pot. If your glaze isn’t running, you can get many uses out of your cookies.

Community cookies are super great but they get a workout and pickup bits of glaze from the wide skill array of our army of potters.

Right, right…I was thinking about platters or larger pieces that are destabilized by firing and stick to surfaces (shelves or cookies)…

High refractory kiln wash is made with alumina but even better is zircon.
