Harry Bertoia Exhibit at the Nasher

My wife and I were at a member reception at the Nasher Sculpture Center tonight. The best time to go to a museum are the member events, and its surprisingly inexpensive.

We’ve been going there for about 10 years and the Harry Bertoia exhibit is the most facinating exhibit I can think of, bronze, welded, kinetic sound sculpture, print works, jewelry, tinsmithing. Its hard to believe one guy worked in so many different areas. We’ll probably go back and bring a better camera.

Its free the first Saturday of each month.

Thank you! Sounds like a killer exhibit!

It should be a group field trip. I usually look closely at welded art to see how it was done but there were a lot of pieces that stumped me, the number of joints was so mind boggling I can’t image how long that would take, several pieces were made from very thin piano like wire but appeared welded or maybe silver soldered but with thousands of joints.

Thank you for setting this up! It was a great field trip. According to the guide, there is a $35 discount off of any membership tier for artists.
