We now have 10 new tool changer spaces for use. This is slots 10-19. We mainly have discussed using these for steel which will require carbide endmills and tooling. we can discuss what to get at a committee meeting.
We ‘may’ dedicate some slots with fixed tools just as we have dedicated slots 2-9 in our tool library for the domino project. But until then you can consider slots 10-19 as open and freeform. the user will be responsible for setting his/her own offsets. If you can’t remember how, don’t hesitate to ask. If we need to expand our collets or get more tool holders needs to be discussed.
SO. Now that we have more slots - unless it is to replace a broken or damaged tool DO NOT CHANGE THE TOOLS OR OFFSETS FOR SLOTS 2-8. EVER. The exception is tool 9 which is a free form drill holder and is set per your job. Changing 2-8 without authorization will be considered a violation and will result in your removal from the authorized haas list. need something special? Use 10-19. can’t get simpler than that.
