Green White Oak?

I’ve spent an hour or so on the internet and have some possible leads to call when people open on Monday but does anybody know where I can possibly purchase wood that has not been dried yet?

White oak is my preference. It would be for steam bending.

Checking the roadside after tornadoes is the most productive method.

@Lloyd_Plum might be able to help you out: he has a small lumber mill.

I can provide green wood. I can double check the log pile tomorrow but I think I might have a post oak log. If I don’t have that are you open to other wood types?

I took a quick look at your site and didn’t see anything else that is good for steam bending but I could be wrong or just have scanned too quickly.

These are specifically going to be the steam bent ribs so straight grain is super important and I think they’ll need to be 48" (maybe as short as 46") long.

White oak, black locust, and eastern ash were the recommended woods.

You may or mat not be interested, but here is an alternative to green wood recommended by Chris Schwartz.

Very cool. Ive never heard of this compressed wood before.
