At least I think it’s a good cause, more in a minute on that. A friend of mine who has a furniture building hobby has started a new business I want to share. This referral goes both ways, as I told him about the makerspace and he is also really interested in joining the makerspace. He plans to tour in two weeks so let’s show some love
He buys surplus and remainder wood and sells it for cheap, he says he promises to be 1/3 retail or less. His stock varies week to week but he mostly has various planks and turning blocks. A lot of hardwoods- right now he has a bunch of cherry, oak and some other low stocks of other interesting hardwood.
His name is Will Zandstra and his company is Against the Grain. Contact him by email or phone.
[email protected] or phone number is +1 (903) 521-0025
He just suffered a major major setback in his life and he is trying to rebuild from the bottom up and I want to see him get back on his feet. He’s well educated from North Dallas etc not some hobo. He just happens to have a hobby of furniture making. So next time you need wood. Save some money and help my friend get back on his feet by at least checking to see if he can get you what yout need.
Much of it is thinner long planks - around 6" or less wide and 8-10’ long as you can see. Plus some turning blocks. Which may not be what you need, it’s it Jay he exactly why you need.
