So we discovered in the belt making class this weekend just how bouncy our bowling lane table really is. Thanks to a previous donation of a piece of plate steel we were able to get a good striking surface.
So, if you have any scrap plate steel 1/4" or thicker big enough for a reasonable striking surface at least 5"x5", please holler at me. The leather SIG would like to add some to our stash.
Look in the scrap bin in the Metal Shop to see whether there is suitable material. With the plasma cutter coming back online soon, you will be able to make any size and shape you need.
Hmmm…we used it for the class Sunday. I was trying to keep it in the hardware box that was living in the leather sewing cabinet, but have found it mixed in with the granite among other places before.
A couple to three more would be great for classes - folks can share.
