Aside from a gas station or grocery store, where’s the best place to get lots of firewood?
I’m going camping with a large group of people in a couple weekends and was hoping to avoid us buying a bunch of firewood bundles at the grocery store.

Craig’s list? Greensheet?
The winter was not as cold as predicted and some people may have overbought.
I’m not sure why craigslist didn’t occur to me, I’ll check it out.
I’d also check on Facebook marketplace. I’ve seen a lot of people there selling firewood in bulk.
Or spend $250 on a good chainsaw and hit your neighbors house at 2am…
check the curbs in you neighborhood. I never buy wood, just pick up what I want along the streets. Got a good stock of Oak, Pecan and Pear …
There is a place in McKinney off 380 that sells all sorts of firewood. He is seasonal in that location right by the trade days.
There is also a place in Grand Prarie/Irving off Beltline south of 183.
They were both better pricing than grocery stores.
Lol one of the last times we went camping we had a downed pine tree next to the camp fire. We kept pushing that into the fire.
Here is some for free. Might have to cut it up. Might be green and not burn as well as seasoned fire wood. But you can’t beat the price.
To expand on what @Sk8nmike said, Richardson has bulky pickup every week. There’s a map on this page that has the schedule for each part of town.

You could easily find several bonfires’ worth of free wood in just a day or two.
Don’t mean to be a stick in the mud, but most state/national parks do not allow you to bring in your own firewood. The reason being is that you bring the bugs infest the wood, that are not always native to that area. Just check ahead of time. These parks will have bundles to purchase onsite.
Yep, the one we are going to allows it. They don’t sell it.
