GlassWorks Committee Meeting and Chair Vote December 27,2020
Attending Liz W- Beth Appleton- Anita Willis- Annette Henningson
- Anita Willis was the only person running for GlassWorks chair. The vote was unanimous for Anita Willis to remain GlassWorks Chair.
2.Safety in GlassWorks. The rubber floor matts shift when they become disconnected. Liz reamended we duct take the backs so they remain connected.
3.Our White project tables are warped, they are not good for cutting large sheets of glass. The light table at this time is not being used as a light table. Anita Willis recommended we put a board on top of it, keep it cleared off to use for glass cutting only. This was agreed on by all attending to move forward with this.
4.Drill presses are on sale at Harbor Freight for under $55.00, since this is on our list of equipment to purchase it was agreed by attending members to go ahead and buy it while it was on sale.
5.It was agreed to throw away into the trash the black light fixtures that needed to be mounted. Some inexpensive clip lights will be added to our want list and will better suit our purpose since they can be moved as needed when using the cutting equipment.

Anita Willis brought Dawn dish soaps and scrub brushes, We attempted to scrub off some of the kiln wash from the glass Slump bottle forms, They had some serious kiln wash build. We will need to discuss a new strategy for slump form care in our next meeting. The flat molds cleaned up fine but the texture bottle molds did not.

The GlassWorks Dept received a deep clean after the meeting.

Microwave kilns need to be kiln washed
The Drill press has been purchased and is in the Kiln area. If anyone has time please volunteer to assemble. Johnny Blue Jacket said he would cut the wood to cover the light table. We will be leaving the glass and light in place incase we have a need to change it back to a light table.
