GlassWorks Committee meeting 10/29

Please attend, your input to the decisions being made is valued and appreciated!

Agenda

Committee chair vote will take place first. Please step up if you plan to run.
Anita Willis will be running for chair again in this election.

We will be reviewing expansion items that have been completed, and and what expansion items still need to happen to get more classes in place.

volunteers are needed and a date set to complete the equipment back splash. Also, we need to discuss ways to prevent slipping once water based equipment classes get started. Some Rubber mat options will be discussed. If needed a vote will be taken.

Project approval and start- At this time all stained glass within the GlassWorks space is for class use. Jennifer Goss and Anita Willis have been talking about selling designated small piece scrap glass. This has bounced around lightly at a couple of meetings. Is this something the committee as a whole is interested in doing? If so, we will be voting on selling the designated scrap in general by weight. Or it be used for small project and sold by the size. Example you come to Glassworks and make a 6x6 sun-catcher and pay 5.00 to cover glass , solder, flux used in the Glassworks area. This subject is completely open for other suggestions. We will also need to find a designated area so people are not confusing this with class stained glass.

The pricing model Jen has set for the Stain Glass classes seems to be working great. Let’s discuss pricing for all classes to see if anything needs to be adjusted. This is based on the class type and supplies used. We need to ensure we have a money sources to keep the glass department self sustained . A vote maybe taken in this, or info gathered and a vote at the next meeting.

We need to discuss a submission to the board on our front space boundary lines.
and the most recent floor plans.

Our front and back warehouse space need official names to reduce confusion.

A vote will be taken to change the glass recommended donation for the microwave glass to a standard fee.
