What is the “certification procedure” to get into the specific AD groups I’ve listed below?
I know the Cold Saw is unique. But for the others, I guess I’m really asking which of these require a “practical” in addition to the class.

Cold_Saw - informal training Thursday at Tool Time with Tim
Shapeoko XXL - formal class, includes machine side
Sherline CNC - formal training in development @keoliver
Tormach - Formal training
The classes are generally offered regularly. Like most, expression of specific interest tends to float them to the top of the priority list. The machine shop committee meeting is tomorrow which will provide an opportunity to discuss this in person with most of the trainers.
I think all three of the machines require a practical, or at least a test-out. @keoliver usually teaches the Shapeoko. @BobKarnaugh and maybe @Mrholthaus teach the other two. Or, since you’ve been on those forever, maybe just do a quick checkout.
The Tormach only requires a class. No practical. Cold saw is a simple demo. The other two I don’t teach or use really
Any Machine Shop Teacher can add users to the AD group.
