I am trying to engrave a cup but when i bring my file into epilog it shows zero run time. Does ‘invert colors’ not work for this? I’m sure there is just a set I’m missing here. I want the typically white area on the playing cards to be engraved and the ace symbols left the color of my cup.

I was able to get it to show a runtime earlier when I used the pathfinder option in AI to remove the overlapping bits of the card underneath. But when I do that it removed the border around the top card which I do want. I can’t figure out how to keep the border and get the image to show a run time. 
I’m sure it’s either an AI setting or an Epilog settings I just don’t know but I’m at a loss.
