Fusion Laser Down w/ Shop Air Outages?

I recall that the Fusion has an internal compressor for its air assist, and that it cannot even be disabled.

Is there a reason we’re posting the Fusion as out of service regardless when the shop air goes down? Or was that sign put there by mistake?

@Team_Laser

I don’t know about the internal compressor, but according to @TBJK there’s enough air to run the lasers right now anyway, even on reduced compressor capacity. If the signs are still on the lasers, they should be removed.

As for the sign, I put it there. I didn’t know any better. @Team_laser … please weigh in on whether that’s necessary in the future.

The fusion has its own air system -the switch you are supposed to flip before starting it up. So it is good.

The switch is the exhaust system.

The shop air being required for air assist was the core of this thread. My understanding is that the fusion has an onboard compressor, so when we have shop air outages it does not need to be taken down like the rest of the lasers.
