So did I. But be aware that in two years, Autodesk will charge you $600 as an automatic renewel. I placed an item on my google calendar as a reminder, so that I can evaluate whether I want to continue. Just in case Autodesk doesn’t send that reminder before they charge your card.

I was just able to purchase at the discounted price.

Very true! I added a calendar event as well.

FYI They also have a free version for students/hobbyists/startups… (free for a year, can renew year by year)

Does anyone have a recommended Fusion 360 tutorial for an electrical guy who’s a mechanical design newbie? There are a lot of choices out there, so a first hand recommendation would be valuable and appreciated.

My intended usage of the tool is to create designs to be 3D printed.

The Autodesk site has the best videos I have found. They are nicely organized to move from novice to advanced.

This is the page that made me choose Fusion 360:

The videos are all a few minutes or less and each clearly explain one function so it’s easy to go through and rewatch many quickly while trying out the tools.

Absolutely, the enthusiast license has been awesome and I highly recommend it. I just did this deal because:

  1. I’ve been really enjoying and using it for a while and felt it was worth supporting it financially under this awesome deal even without the direct need for a paid license.

  2. I don’t know how long they’ll be so kind as to offer the really flexible enthusiast license and this is an opportunity to not take it for granted.

i just signed up for the “Student license” a month ago that gives you 3 years free. you dont have to provide any sort of documentation or anything and you get all of their products, not just fusion 360. i guess its kind of scummy, but im under no illusions of not being a scumbag
