Will the output of this filter go back into the workshop air, or will it go out of the roof?

If the former, will you have a list of no-no substances for the hood?

The output of the filter will go back into the shop. The efficacy of the filter will be tested and monitored with these sensors based on the activity that the filter sees and the number of hours it is used.

In addition to a list of approved chemicals and procedures that may take place in the hood only if they’re approved by Science Committee, the fan, surveillance cameras, and the lock to the sliding glass door will be controlled through an rfid lock driven by RasPi 3.0. Science Committee will review each procedure on a case by case basis but the main activites we’re expecting to take place in the hood include electroplating, pcb fabrication, jewelry and precious metal processes, and whatever else is to be submitted and approved by Science Committee. Most processes involving strong acids with the exception of hydrofluoric acid will likely be greenlighted. Most processes involving a hazardous organic solvent will NOT be allowed to take place in the hood as the activated carbon filter will not adsorb and react with the majority of organic solvents.

If any non-science types are wondering why…
