I have a Canon PIXMA MG5420 Inkjet printer that has worked well since 2016. It sat idle for several months and after printing a few pages is now generating a B200 Error (some sort of printhead failure).
A quick online search on that error code indicates a thorough head cleaning and some unplug/replug gymnastics might fix the issue. Since it’d likely ending up sitting idle again, I’d rather replace with a cheap laser printer and move on.
My loss is your gain: it’s 9600x2400 DPI color and 600x600 DPI B&W. Five individual ink cartridges (C,M,Y,K+K) wastes less ink (when printing is working 
)
