Currently I am stretched thin across multiple DMS stuff. Need to hand off / delegate some projects.
Forming PCB Mill SIG.
The SIG will be responsible for finishing the mill, maintenance, sftwr details, and classes/documentation.
Electronics will supply tooling for the final dressout and for classes.
Members will need to supply their own tooling.

Things that remain:

  1. enclosure and vacuum - dust control
  2. hold down / clamp and spoilboard
  3. final adjustment of flags
  4. sftwr - I would like to see something standalone, but not mandatory.
  5. classes / certification of users and documentation.

how long before someone asks if they can cut stainless steel on it? :grin:

They can ask all they want…
Same answer: Copper clad pcb boards only.
Having to supply their own tooling will solve some of this.
And cameras in the committee area.

So engraving pretty pictures in a copper clad PCBs for creative arts is out of the question?
