My utmost, most sincere apologies- I thought you were in that post. I’m going to go head off the internet now, I think I need a break. Thank you for all your help with it.
The science classes were what convinced me to visit DMS and eventually become a member after checking out the website/calendar. Woodshop and Laser may be a draw for some people, but they can also be scary to those unfamiliar with them. The soap-making class for instance is perfect for newbies to the Space; it’s accessible regardless of skill level, feels immediately useful (I can make my own soap?!), and there’s something you get to take home with you. Plus, it was a lot of fun, and I was able to convince a non-member to attend with me because of the above points.
I’m looking forward to attending some of the other science classes and hope you decide not to cancel them.
FWIW laser probably doesn’t need to get honorarium to survive.
You rock Josh!
Within current financial constraints, Science needs to work up a process that allows classes and funding that will work for them.
Don’t sacrifice Science for Woodshop or laser. This must be noodled out for all committees. Keep offering classes please.
I’m looking forward to our science classes! Science is the coolest.
