First testfire rounds of swaged JHP

My first batch of hand made .40 JHP -

Annealed 9mm case
Soft lead cores
Seat the cores
Crease the jackets
Form the rounds
Reload a standard .40 shell

They look pretty legit.

All went well - Need a friendly permissive range that’d let me put a few rounds into a stack of magazines to give me some idea of how they open up.

Try Magnum Sports Center in Sanger, real down to earth folks.

I bet quail creek would let you.

Production is ramping up.

By varying the size of the lead core you can change the nose characteristics of the round.

I’m still getting about 1/35 scrap - suspect its the odd bad lead core that’s crushing the casing / jacket.

One thing I like about this die set is you do not need to trim the 9mm brass - just need to anneal it soft with a torch.
