Firmware updates for kisslicer/rockstock v3 max

May I please know what needs to be done so the firmware for the 3d fab room is up to date? Also we need to post the settings for the (PLA) rockstock v3 max settings in kisslicer. they open different for everyone or the settings change an only a few (2) people know how to change them back. I have a up to date version of Simplify 3d an was advised by them that my current version will not work if the v3 max is not current on the firmware. (In my opinion kisslicer is garbage software) my settings in S3D are specifically for the v3 max via the settings premade in the program an I have not been able to print a working file for almost 2 months that I have been here.

When can we have polyprinter come update their software so the connections work better?

Octoprint is now on version 0.15.1 as well which I believe will help fix some of the issues that happen when we cancel a file.

Issues - kiss slicer not up to date on any computer in the building.
octoprint out of date causing connection issues when cancelling, restarting, or pausing.
polyrpinters firmware out of date.
Rockstock v3 max firmware out of date.

If these are not fixed because there is nobody with time to do all this…… please advise me on what I may do an most of this I can fix in 24 hrs.
Thank You all for your time.

We should either wait for the dust to settle or have a plan in place to continuously upgrade. At the moment the firmware is changing quickly.

simplify 3d update is 4.1.1 the space is running 4.0.1 I have been waiting 2 months to use the printer. the last firmware update on the rockstock was in may 2018 they released. Again 2 Months for what dust?

I guess ill just have to say it out loud since other voices wont………… the delay of making things work properly is working in the favor of “certain people” while others stand around asking for help they never get. There is no reason for dust to settle, we need answers an solutions.

…on the Duet firmware was 23 days ago. There has been at least one bug fix update a month since May. We need to track those or update the controller to the last 1.3 update until the 2.X line has less activity.

they are on version 2.0.2 now we are running 1.3 which is months behind and does not work right with s3d because it is old. honest question? who the hell runs on firmware 9 patches ago expecting functionality? Kiss slicer I have discovered is also not the program people are using to print from the rockstock because it also is behind on all computers with changed settings. who must I talk to for the PROPER firmware to be installed instead of trying to run with broken legs.
AGAIN FAVORITISM/LAZINESS OF CERTAIN PEOPLE ON ONLY THE ROCKSTOCK IS A UNTALKED ABOUT ISSUE. LETS FIX THIS ISSUE SO THAT TALK STOPS AN ALL CAN USE IT THE RIGHT WAY.
We all would like a fair experience here.
issues- octoprint out of date
kisslicer out of date /changed settings
rockstock firmware out of date (currently 1.3 (9 months behind)) software version update is 2.0.2

What will it take to bring these current?

@engpin is the current 3D Fab Chairperson. You should speak to him about your concerns.

Given that once someone is logged in with administrator privileges it only takes a few minutes to update a machine it seems to me that installing any STABLE release should be a no-brainer.

FWIW, it took me 6 mins on my old Win 10 PC at home to update the PolyPrinter s/w suite.

Not every release mind you, but a stable one, especially ones recommended by PolyPrinter. FWIW, PolyPrinter is still distributing KisSlicer 1.6.2 (from Nov 2017), while the latest stable release is 1.6.3 (from May 2018). Note that as per the PolyPrinter downloads page, a File/Choose and Restore of the settingsMaster needs to be done to stabilize the settings.

If you’re making a request or reporting issues, you should open a thread on the Issues and Requests category on Talk and tag the 3d Fab team…

I thought i did that. Apologize an thank you. Will be sure next time.

If you want you can change the category of this thread. And tag the 3d-fab team (just start typing @Team and it’ll pop up a pick list).

That is a big help to know. Thank You!

we are working on updating firmware on the PLA First then we will do the poly printers one at a time.

if you want to help Feb 2nd to committee meeting and maintenance day

The Rostock has been updated to that latest controller firmware, WiFi adapter firmware, and web files.

The user interface is different. Pay close attention to the macro buttons; they are in a different order. Please do not rerun First Probe (unless you remove the bed / alter its position). It and Probe Autolevel have essentially swapped positions.

Any files that had been stored on the SD card are gone.

The Strap Clamp printed exactly as it had before the update.

There was an annoying failure to refresh the web page at the end of a print. It took about two minutes before the Rostock would respond with fresh data.

Other than that there is no discernible difference. Enjoy.

I’m going after the most annoying printer first. I believe that to be '92.
