So I haven’t researched this yet, but it seems a dipole in these bands is not practical for most of us, and the max allowed ERP is what, 5 watts? And most stations in other countries as I understand it are operating with such compromise antennas that they are driving hundreds of watts to get close to 5 watts? This begs the question, do you manage to accurately measure this? Calculate from forward power minus reflected power? Computer model? I don’t remember this on my extra exam.
