Fantastical Forms: Feb-March Cosplay/Costume/SCA/Renfaire/Identity show at DMS call for entries

I’m going to go ahead and pull the trigger on this show to start the year. Michael is currently working on a poster.

open to DMS members only (to show)
Things that hang on the wall are appreciated as I imagine space becoming an issue
We also have the small shelf in the CA room for displaying smaller items/props
If you want it to be on a form you must supply the form (PVC body or dress form)
This show can involve any work that is concerned with the concept of identity
Must enter your info on the entry form for a namecard

Important Dates
Work drop-off dates: Jan 23rd -29th to the CA room
Hang party Jan 30th 1-5p Will need help please
Hang till March 26th
Work left after April 16th will be considered donations to the space

Do you intend to have folks wearing their alter egos as part of this?

I like that idea. Possibly we do another big opening and the people wear them and hang them at the end of the night. To be discussed for sure by the people who plan on entering.

Am I clear that this is ANYTHING that concerns identity? I’m not sure how to get that across to people when cosplay is so strong

Well since that sentence has confused me, I don’t know what you are referring to beyond ‘cosplay’. BTW, hadn’t even heard of cosplay until I joined the space and noticed someone cutting/engraving leather and asked…

Like renfaire costumes, SCA pieces, movie props, steampunk pieces, adornment, jewelry pieces, self-portraits…stuff like that
