Okay – here’s the scoop.
I’ll be heading a shopping expedition Sunday 2/20. While this is part of the “Learn to sew” series, it’s okay if you didn’t get to the sewing machine intro. I can do a little personalized instruction when we get the sewing classes.
I’ve picked the JoAnn’s on the SE corner of Preston and Forest. I figured that was centrally located for about everybody. Since I’ve listed it on the class, I figure we’re stuck with it for this round. I may have some time in March to run an expedition to the JoAnn’s up in Lewisville.
What we’ll be doing –
We’ll start with the patterns area. We’ll look through the pattern books and pick patterns for what you want to make. I’ll help you understand the wording, and advise you about the difficulty level of what you’ve chosen.
Then we’ll head for the fabric area. While I will be giving a guided tour, we are going to make sure that we’re looking at the fabrics that are suggested for the patterns we’ve picked. I’m going to print out a boatload of the 40%-off-one-thing coupons that JoAnn’s typically has every week.
Then, if you’ve picked what you want, you can buy it. If you’ve already got a pattern, bring that. Make sure you’ve marked in some way that shows it’s already been purchased.
We’ll also go through the “notions” area and pick the rest of the items they suggest for the pattern you’ve selected.
