Expired and Tossed from In-Progress Shelves_09042024

Hello DMS Potters,

While checking the shelves, I have noticed there are dates in the future on the tags. This is incorrect. When you are placing items on the In-Progress shelves, you need to put your first name (required), last initial (opt), and the date the item is placed on the shelf.

There are currently about 8 clay items on the NEEDS ATTENTION shelf.

Bisqued (items that have been fired in a kiln without glaze) are not allowed on the In-Progress shelves. These items will be discarded on the 7th day if not picked up.

Please be sure to get your pottery items before they expire, which is 30 days. THIS POST IS NOTIFICATION THAT THE ITEMS LISTED HAVE BEEN DISCARDED, so please make a reminder of when you should check your projects. We hate throwing away items you’ve spent time crafting.

REMINDER
We allow 30 days for your clay item to be on the In-Progress Shelves.

         **TIME LIMITS IN CERAMICS DEPARTMENT**

ITEMS ON BATS is 7 DAYS
Please return within 7 days to move your item from the bat to a board.
If a project is on DMS bats after 7 days, we will attempt to wire off your project and place on a wear board. Thankfully, we have not had any issues with doing this yet, but mishaps can happen.

ADDITIONAL RULES IN THE CERAMICS SPACE

  • If you have a glaze that will run, please provide your own cookie before it goes in the kiln.

  • If you have not allowed an unglazed bottom and a bottom edge of 1/4", please provide your own cookie.

  • Bisqueware should not be stored on In-Progress shelves. If noted, you will have 7 days to remove it before it is discarded.

  • If your project contains added items, like copper, toothpicks, or newspaper…the piece won’t be fired unless these items are removed. Basically, anything that might cause damage to or influence other pieces in the kiln will likely not be fired. Generally, these items are placed on the NEEDS ATTENTION shelf with a note.

  • If you haven’t seen your item come out of the kiln, please check the NEEDS ATTENTION shelf near the kilns and check the Ceramics Kiln News thread.

@teaisfortiffany it appears from the last picture…that you dated your item as 8-3. So being we have a 30 day limit it was tossed.
