It seems like there’s no escape… but, if you put your phone quickly in speakerphone as you answer and you play this… they’ll add you to their list of dead #s to not call.
You just have to be quick about it. I get maybe 2 a week where I was getting 2 a day before.

You could just make this your cell phone’s answering machine message with a “just kidding” message tacked onto the end - your friends would know better anyway.
all you really need are the 3 tones at the start of the message.
