I’ve added a printer training class for the EPSON 7880 for Wed, Sep 7th at 7:00pm. I missed August due to being out of town, but it’s a continuation of my effort to teach the training class on the first Wednesday of each month.
On a related note, I would love to hold a “Train the Trainers” session to increase the number of people that can offer training classes. I’d also like to put together a step-by-step usage guide that could possibly serve to replace the required training class and increase the accessibility of the printer. If someone out there is willing to volunteer to help me out with this - it would be mega-awesome!
Thanks!

Thanks much, I signed up!
I’d love to attend the “Train the Trainer” session, but Wednesdays are out for my until June 2017. If you can do it on a Monday or Thursday, I would love to help out.
Love the train the trainer @artnerdray I know you said you were interested in that @Photomancer as well.
I also can’t do Wednesday, but would be willing to assist in offering classes after taking a train-the-trainer class.
Definitely will be in for the new printer Train the Trainer to help with the transition to make go smoothly and help take training load off of you.
@pandabob What kind of help do you need with writing up a step by step usage guide? I think that’s a great idea. I use the guide @John_Marlow made for the embroidery machine on my own machine at home if it’s been a while since I’ve used it.
I can handle writing out an outline of instructions and gathering photos
and screenshots. Where I need some help is editing that into a
well-designed document that’s effective and easy to use.

I’d love to help you with this.
This video is pretty old but I linked to the specific spot where he talks about making tools and resources self serve.
And I’d love to see this implemented at DMS. I think the wide format printer might be a great place to do it.
I’ve thought about doing a simple one for our sewing machines–i.e. this is how you thread it, this is how it works, with pictures of OUR specific machines.
His example in this video is for their Vinyl Cutter and here is the tutorial: Vinyl Cutter (Roland GX-24) - Tutorial: Using the Vinyl Cutter - Google Docs
And you can find all of their tutorials here as examples of what we can do:
