Engraving stained wood?

Hi everyone,

I don’t see polyurethane wood stain on the approved or banned list for laser engraving. Is that something allowed to be engraved on our machines?

I don’t think so, because the fumes can damage the lens

certainly not authoritative in this response, but “urethane board” is specified under the “safe-ish” category on the wiki for laser cutter materials, so I’d think “polyurethane”, being a poly of the same, is even more allowed! (Like polydactyl cats, right? Moar is better!)
