We received a big donation of Actobotics parts from Servo City. I would like to propose a DMS wide group build. I will post the list of parts we received so you can start thinking about what we can make with them.
I see this as a two event process:
A brainstorming session to determine what items we should build.
The actual build session(s).
A two part process will give us a chance to order any additional parts or electronics needed to build an amazing project.
Don’t limit your ideas to just electronics /robotics. Some ideas on Instructables.
It would be cool to have a time lapse revolving around the main workshop floor. We could put a rail system around the room by the ceiling and get some interesting shots.
Maybe for the go cart project? Make it RC controlled to where you sit in it & use the RC to drive it around while holding the remote. Kinda drive by wire. A time lapse would be cool as well.
The Actobotics parts are not big enough to build a go cart. But there seems to be an interest in building a time-lapse / slider rig. It would be perfect for that kind of application.
I second a time lapse recording (circular)track around the main shop floor. Think big, like 50ft radius.

That would be Awesome. And when people wonder what that thing on the ceiling could be… it will have a sign that reads Robotics Committee.
Now that I think of it, this could be a great chance for A/V and Robotics to work together on a project that will be prominent with in DMS. The hanging sign could read, “Robotics / AV Committee” a work in progress.
